The kids and I stayed at my parents’ house over the weekend and one of the nights I woke up to Dillon trying to pull out my hair….

Me: Dillon stop pulling my hair.

Dillon: ok……. was that your hair the whole time?

Me: yes.

Dillon: I thought it was toilet paper…..

Matthew saw this the other night and I love it…. this boy is so cute!

Cameron accidentally poked Dillon in the eye with a toy tonight and this is how he insisted on going to bed…

Last night, Cameron decided that she wanted to play Scooby Doo with Dillon on the PS2. She did incredibly well considering she’s never played a video game before. I was also very impressed with Dillon’s patience with her. He is normally VERY impatient with anyone he plays with…. Watching them play together was cracking me up, so I pulled out the video camera.

The first clip is really short and funny… the kids have watched it about 50 times. The second is a couple minutes of them playing. (Ignore the werewolf sounds in the background… I should have muted the TV)

After a long blogging break, I am back and figured that I should start up again with what’s been going on lately:

1. October was officially named the sick month. It started off with both kids getting the flu, then Matthew and I both ended up with Strep throat. Two weeks after that, all four of us had h1n1. I must say it was no fun and, hopefully, the rest of the winter will be sickness free.

2. We planted grass in the backyard in late September, maybe early October (can’t remember exactly) and it is about 2 inches long now. It is a bit spotty from bad timing, but we will re-seed in the Spring and it should look great… I can’t wait!

3. Cameron has moved up to the 4 year old class in gymnastics and loves it. It is pretty challenging and she is doing great. It is funny to watch because she’s almost a head shorted than all the other kids.

4. Dillon is a videogameaholic. His favorite at the moment is Mario Kart for the Wii. I must say, he has a natural talent for most video games and he beats both Matthew and I often.

5. We finally finished Cameron’s room and I love it! Matthew and I stayed up until 12 last night putting the last pictures on the walls. Amazingly, we work really well together when decorating! I have the eye for where to put things and he’s the perfectionist who gets everything perfectly centered. It’s actually quite fun :)

6. I am going to the midnight showing of New Moon tonight with my friend Shelley (sorry Mom!) and can’t wait!!!! I must admit that I LOVE the Twilight series!

7. We started recycling about a month ago and it is actually a lot of fun (weird, I know). We were amazed to discover that about 1/2 of our trash each week can be recycled.

8. We went on our annual vacation to Branson the last week of October. It was beautiful and we had great weather for Silver Dollar City. The only negative part was that Cameron was sick most of the trip and I had a really annoying cough… otherwise, it was a blast as usual.

9. Matthew and I have been playing co-ed volleyball this fall. I have never played co-ed before and didn’t realize how much fun it is. I am also very proud of Matthew, he hasn’t ever played volleyball before and is getting pretty good!

10. And last, for Halloween, Dillon was Boba Fett from Star Wars and Cameron was a snow princess.

That’s most of what’s been going on lately and I will be posting regularly again from now on :)

Dillon had his first soccer game of the season on Saturday. We are playing with the AYSO this year. It is a full year program and we really like it so far. Matthew is the coach and I really like that there are only 5 players on the team so they all get a lot of playing time.

Cameron did great on her first day of preschool! I should have known since she’s been excited about going to schoool since April. She really liked it, I think we are going to have a great year!

Dillon started Kindergarten almost 2 weeks ago and absolutely loves it!  The biggest “surprise” that we have had so far is that his teacher says that he is a complete chatterbox and has actually gotten in trouble for it. I think it is hilarious, he has really come out of his shell over the summer (for those of you who don’t remember, in the past he has been extremely shy… his preschool teachers barely heard his voice last year).

Here are a few pictures from his first day….

Matthew and I have been working on Cameron’s room lately. We are in the process of painting all of the furniture and it should be done next week! Last night, I painted the letters of her name (I finished at 2 Am…. it was very addicting). I am very happy with how they turned out…

Although this goes against my not wanting Cam to be a cheerleader, this is pretty cute. Brooke is her best friend. She lives 2 doors down and we are very lucky to have such a great teenager so close. Since Brooke is very into cheerleading, I guess it is inevitable that it rubs off on Cameron.
